Through the Woods is on the Indie MEGABOOTH at PAX Prime

Hello friends, strangers and everyone in between!

We thought we’d let you know that Antagonist are going to be at the awesome PAX Prime in Seattle between the 28th and 31st of August. Not only that, but we will be on the Indie MEGABOOTH!

If you don’t know what PAX Prime is, here’s a little blurb:

The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) is a series of gaming festivals held in Seattle, Boston, Melbourne and San Antonio. PAX was created by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, the authors of the Penny Arcade webcomic, because they wanted to attend a show exclusively for gaming.

Created in 2004, PAX has been hailed as a celebration of gamer culture. Defining characteristics of the festival include an opening keynote speech from an industry insider, game-culture inspired concerts and panels on game topics. The festival also features exhibitor booths from independent and major game developers and publishers, a LAN party, tabletop game tournaments and video game free-play areas.

Here’s what the MEGABOOTH guys have to say for themselves:

The Indie MEGABOOTH is the largest booth space on the PAX Prime expo floor and is a collective comprised of the world’s most innovative and talented independent game developers. MEGABOOTH exists to support these developers and pool their resources to enable them to showcase their work prominently, despite not having the resources of publishers.

Here’s the official video of the MEGABOOTH lineup for PAX Prime 2015. Sadly, we didn’t get any gameplay in the video, (possibly not colourful enough? :)) but it’s still a great little trailer with some awesome looking games.

So, all this stuff is very exciting, and it’s a huge deal for us. We are the first Norwegian company to have been invited to exhibit on the MEGABOOTH and there are over 70 other incredibly talented and interesting developers on this year’s stand. We really can’t wait! If you’re interested in checking out the newly updated Through the Woods demo, please come check us out.

You might be wondering what’s new about our demo, so we’ll tell you, the most obvious thing being the massive graphics overhaul. Over the past two months, we’ve migrated the project to Unity 5 and started upgrading the graphics. With the help of our fully custom textures, SpeedTree, the Substance series, new custom assets, Sonic Ether’s ambient occlusion, and a beautiful, brand new, fully custom water shader, the game look incredibly good. This is the way we want people to experience Through the Woods for the first time. We’ve also added some new music, created crows and a bird behaviour system and a.i. systems for one of the enemies and also started incorporating stealth mechanics so you can finally sneak. Phew! That’s a lot of stuff. And that’s why, even if you’ve played Through the Woods before, or downloaded our free demo, it would still be great to see you on the Indie MEGABOOTH at PAX.

To show you the progression of how the game has changed over the past weeks, here’s a little comparison:

So, that’s it from us for now. See you in Seattle!

  2. Unless a team eats his entire salary, I really see no point in trading him. We could lose Dempster and Garza this month, and as bad as Wells has been this year, I absolutely refuse to watch Casey Coleman start. If the Jays didn’t claim him, that tells me that they’re not interested in absorbing his salary, or are hoping to have us take on one of their bad contracts in a trade. I’d rather keep Wells.

  3. Quite a batting performance by the Australian captain of late. Four double centuries so far in a calendar year is impressive and Bradmanesque but still not be be considered the next Bradman. +3

  4. Roxanne, I love ya more than my luggage, but a)yes, you knew I lived on a cul-de-sac due to driving your ginormous barge of a vehicle to the end of it to turn around on occasion, and b)I am facing the cul-de-sac, my parents house (and the back end of my car) are on the right. Bless ya — Ike has got your brain bumfoozled.

  5. Jul10 Great work, John! Understanding the Roman imagery helps a lot and increases my respect for the series. Clearly there was a lot more forethought put into it than one might gather upon finishing the third book (I agree, definitely the worst of the series). I’m curious if you see any historic parallels with the rebels from District 13. What does it say that their leaders turned out to be only slightly less corrupt and manipulative than the Capitol’s?VN:F [1.9.20_1166](from 2 votes)
